ICFA Service on behalf of Cafcass
Improving Child and Family Arrangements (ICFA) is the service designed by Cafcass and delivered by providers just like Family Ties across the country to help families agree safe, beneficial, and sustainable spending time with arrangements when they are finding it difficult to do so on their own.
During 2020 contact centres have had to close in most cases. So in March 2020 Family Ties launched a virtual contact service. this allowed for constructive and value based contact, we use secure technology and ensure a summary report is written at the end.
From playing games to talking about life this contact has become a real favourite for families, we do have some rules and we explain this through the pre contact meeting.
Welfare checks are used to check on the wellbeing of a vulnerable child. Welfare checks are carried out by professional team of qualified specialist. The child's safety is paramount. Our welfare reports complete are often used as evidence in care proceedings.

The contact work for these requirements had been Commissioned through the local authority to carry out supervised contact for three siblings to see their biological parents, while court proceedings were undertaken.
These sessions took place over a long period of time meaning a strong understanding of contact work, from both sides were recognised, and a unique friendship began.

All of our supervisors are trained in Child Protection and Safe Guarding, hold an enhanced DBS, with relevant experience to be able to provide supervised contact supported contacts in locations from Gloucester, Bristol, Weston-Super-Mare, Taunton, Exeter, Plymouth, Truro and many other south west location . Also in a variety of settings and have the skills to complete an accurate report to support the family with contact services.
