Family Ties provides Supported Child Contact. This can take place in a variety of neutral venues where there are facilities to enable children to develop and maintain positive relationships with non-resident parents and other family members.
Supported Child Contact can be suitable for families when no significant risk to the child or those around the child has been identified.
Family Ties will remain impartial and available for assistance however, there is no close observation, monitoring or evaluation of individual contacts/conversations. A report will still be provided but will not be as detailed as a ‘Supervised Contact’, due to the nature of Supported Contact.
Family Ties believes that Supported Contact allows families to develop mutual trust either centre based or in any agreed location/venue that the children having contact would benefit from.
Supported Contact is not suitable when possible risk to children or adults is present. Supervised Contact could be considered in this event.
Staff are available for assistance but there is no close observation, monitoring or evaluation of individual contacts/conversation.
